How does KeySearch work?
KeySearch provides information to help you improve your SEO strategy. You can use KeySearch to research keywords, audit your website, analyze competitors, and write content that increases website traffic. There’s also a feature for YouTube SEO.
Overview of KeySearch features
Is KeySearch a good tool?
KeySearch is an excellent tool for improving your website's SEO and blog strategy for more organic search traffic. I've tried many keyword research tools and find KeySearch to be the best.
Not only does KeySearch work similarly to popular SEO tools like Semrush and Ahrefs, but it's also more affordable. I also prefer the overall experience on KeySearch to other platforms.
My KeySearch Review
⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
I’ve been using KeySearch since 2022, and it’s easily my favorite SEO tool. I use it almost daily to optimize mine and my clients’ websites for SEO.
I primarily use the keyword tool to find high-traffic, relevant keywords for website copy and blog posts. The content assistant feature is also great for guiding blog article content. I also love the site audit feature, which allows me to see exactly how my website (and my clients') performs and where improvements are needed.
Best of all, using KeySearch helps get rankings on and traffic from Google. In the last year, I got 57,400 website visitors from Google alone. One of my clients got 171,000!

KeySearch Pros and Cons
While my five-star KeySearch review is thanks to all of its pros, there are also a few cons to consider – like with any software.
KeySearch Pros
User-friendly - While it takes practice to learn all the features, KeySearch’s interface is one of the most user-friendly I’ve experienced. KeySearch also offers helpful guides and tutorial videos if needed.
Affordable pricing - KeySearch offers two plans: the Starter Plan for $24 per month and the Pro Plan for $48 per month. I’ve used the Starter Plan for several years, and it’s perfect for small businesses, service providers, and freelance writers. Most other SEO tools cost more than $100 monthly, and some are even more expensive.
Free trial - KeySearch lets you test it out for free for 7 days to see if you like it.
Comprehensive features - With so many in-depth tools, including keyword research, content assistant, and competitive analysis, you can easily optimize your website and create helpful content for your audience.
Accurate data - KeySearch provides real-time, accurate data and consistently updates the algorithms for the most reliable information.
Good customer support - KeySearch’s 24/7 chat feature allows you to get real-time support, which I’ve used and have found very helpful. You can also submit tickets via chat.

KeySearch Cons
No mobile app - While there’s no app, KeySearch’s site is mobile-friendly. But are we working on our phones anyway?
Smaller keyword database - While other SEO tools have billions of keywords, Keysearch's database has about one billion. That said, I've used KeySearch almost daily for several years for my own website and many clients, and I've never run out of keyword options.
Foresight requires the Pro Plan - If you want access to Foresight, which uses AI to suggest the best keywords and content strategies, you'll need to upgrade to the Pro Plan. I don’t use this but still get effective SEO results.
Other KeySearch Reviews
I also asked a few other business owners and freelancers who use KeySearch what their experience has been like…
“I've been using KeySearch for about two years. There's so much I love about it. It's easy to use, even for beginners. Filters, color coding, and keyword lists make it incredibly well-organized. The content assist tool is also really handy for optimizing blog posts and standing out against competitors.
KeySearch helped my website go from completely invisible to actually gaining traction on Google, with clicks and impressions steadily growing over time.”
-Sarah Santoro, Freelance Parent & Family Writer at The Parenting Writer
“I’ve tried several different SEO tools, and the one I keep coming back to is KeySearch. I use it every time I need to research keywords and also daily to track the rankings for pages on my website. It’s easy to use and gets the job done at a great price!”
-Katie Harp, Digital Marketer at Katie Harp Creative
“KeySearch makes it so easy to write articles for my blog. When I'm stuck for ideas, I'll search for broad terms related to my niche to see what people are searching for that I could write about. I'll also search for terms that I'm already writing about—or that my audience regularly asks about—and see how I can tweak the titles of my articles to better match what people are searching for.
I recently did this for one of my articles, and it's still the most-read blog article on my website, causing a huge spike in regular traffic. It now ranks #4 on the first page of Google search results! It's also quoted by Google AI as a source for the quote and its meaning! I couldn't have done this without the data I found on Keysearch.”
-Shelby Forsythia, Grief Coach, Author, and Podcast Host
“I signed up for a KeySearch subscription in late 2024 after taking Polly's How to Write an SEO-Friendly Blog course. Since most clients provide me with SEO outlines, I never directly needed an SEO tool, but I was eager to try KeySearch to supplement my assignments and do my own keyword research after learning about it. I appreciate how affordable it is for solopreneurs, and the platform itself is incredibly easy to use.
I primarily use the Keyword Research and Content Assistant tabs. The former helps me understand keyword competitiveness, and I look at the SERP Analysis and Rankings/Traffic before I start working on a client assignment to see what I'm up against. In the Content Assistant tab, I love that KeySearch generates a list of "Must Words" to include in your content for a better chance at ranking.”
Alyssa Towns, Freelance Writer at Words with Alyssa
“I’ve been using KeySearch since 2022 and love it because it’s simple but effective. It’s a fraction of the cost of other keyword research tools, and yet it delivers all the same results. I used to use Ahrefs and Clearscope, but I was able to replace them with KeySearch at a much more affordable price!!
I use KeySearch to create SEO strategies for my content marketing clients. Then, I use it to create the briefs for the content I’ll write to implement the strategy. Once I write the content for the strategy, I use their content analyzer to make sure it’s up to snuff.
I also use it for keyword research for YouTube videos to market my own business.”

Who are KeySearch’s competitors?
KeySearch has several competitors, including Semrush, Ahrefs, Moz, and Ubersuggest. These work similarly to help you improve your website SEO. However, KeySearch has been the best in my experience due to its price, ease of use, and the results it can offer.
How much does KeySearch cost?
KeySearch costs $24 or $48 monthly, depending on your plan.
The Starter Plan is $24 per month. This is ideal for bloggers and small businesses and includes:
200 keyword searches per day
80 tracked keywords per month
2,000 audit pages per month
5,000 AI credits per month
The Pro Plan is $48 per month. This is best for fast-growing businesses and SEO agencies and includes:
Foresight
500 keyword searches per day
200 tracked keywords per month
5,000 audited pages per month
15,000 AI credits per month
Both plans also include live SERP, competitor and backlink analysis, SEO auditor, AI content assistant, YouTube research, and more.
